Belotero® in Huntersville, NC
Using your skin’s natural processes to fight the signs of aging offers a non-surgical solution for moderate to severe wrinkles, creases and folds. Dr. Briggs E. Cook, Jr., a board-certified Huntersville surgeon who specializes in facial plastic surgery, and Denise Curtis, PA offer Belotero® treatments to boost the amount of hyaluronic acid in your skin. Pure Facial Plastic Surgery is a leading provider of Belotero® treatments for people in Charlotte and the surrounding areas.
What is Belotero®?
Dermal fillers and injectables offer a variety of ways to treat lines and wrinkles. Some products, such as Botox® and Xeomin®, relax facial muscles to smooth out signs of aging. Others add collagen or hyaluronic acid (HA) to work with your skin to gradually add volume. One such treatment is Belotero®, an injectable treatment that contains HA to bind with water in your skin. The enhanced hydration in your skin restores skin volume, and lines and wrinkles simply fade away.
Benefits of Belotero®
Some of the unique benefits of Belotero® include:
- Reduces lines and wrinkles with HA, a substance that occurs naturally in the skin
- Effects of treatment last six to 12 months
- Treatment takes less than one hour
- No downtime
- Non-surgical anti-aging solution
What is Belotero® Used For?
Belotero® is an FDA-approved treatment for moderate to severe creases, folds, and wrinkles, such as:
- Frown lines
- Marionette lines
- Crow’s feet
- Lines around the lips and mouth, sometimes referred to as “smoker’s lines”
Dr. Cook and Denise Curtis, PA may also recommend Belotero® to enhance your cheeks and lips.
What Should I Expect From Belotero® Treatments?
Lines and wrinkles are reduced by injecting Belotero® into the treatment area. The needle that Dr. Cook or Denise Curtis, PA uses is very small, much smaller than what is used for vaccinations. You may need several injections, so we may numb the area with a topical numbing agent. Dr. Cook or Denise Curtis, PA chooses precise injection sites to optimize the results of the product. After the injections, you see a noticeably enhanced volume to your skin, and your wrinkles and creases are less severe. Over time, the HA attracts water to further reduce the signs of aging.
Most people achieve optimum results after just one Belotero® treatment. Dr. Cook or Denise Curtis, PA may recommend a maintenance treatment after six months to prevent the wrinkles and creases from returning.
Unlike surgery, Belotero® does not require that you take time off work or limit your activities. You may experience some minor tenderness, swelling, redness and bleeding where the needle was inserted into your skin. These symptoms may last one or two days. During this time, you may use concealer to hide the bruising and redness. You can also take some steps before your treatment to reduce the number of side affects you experience after the injection. Dr. Cook or Denise Curtis, PA recommend you:
- Only undergo Belotero® treatments at Pure Facial Plastic Surgery to ensure that the product is administered properly
- Avoid alcohol for at least two days before your appointment
- Do not use anti-inflammatory medications for at least one week before the appointment, unless directed by your physician
