What is an IPL® Photofacial?
IPL®, or intense pulsed light, is a popular anti-aging treatment that gives exceptional results without surgery. The treatment is recommended for many common skin problems and is safe, quick and effective. IPL® works by targeting collagen and blood vessels in your skin, causing them to tighten. The process reduces redness, lines, wrinkles and other flaws.

What Should I Expect From IPL® Photofacial Treatments?
IPL® photofacial treatments take only 30 to 60 minutes. We cover your eyes with special goggles and apply a cooling ointment to the treatment area. Dr. Cook or his staff administers intense light energy to the area in short bursts, and you may feel a mild to moderate warming sensation as well as a slight pinch. After treatment, we cool down the area with ice packs.
IPL® photofacials do not damage the tissues of your skin, so recovery is very short. You may have some redness for one or two days, and should avoid going outside during this time. When you do go outdoors, use sunscreen to protect your skin.
With most patients, Dr. Cook recommends several IPL® Photofacial treatments to optimize the results.
What Should my Physician Explain to me About IPL® Photofacial Treatments?
Recovery time is normally longer for patients who opt for IPL® photofacials to treat acne.
IPL® photofacials may not be appropriate for patients with dark or tanned skin.
How Much Does an IPL® Photofacial Treatment Cost?
Dr. Cook and his staff tailor IPL® photofacials to the personal needs of each patient, so the cost of treatment varies. The cost is based upon the size of the treatment area and intensity of treatment. You can pay by major credit6 card, cash or personal check.
